The iconic Jeep Compass is poised for a significant transformation, with its next-generation model slated for a global reveal in Europe during Spring 2025. This revamped compact SUV marks a pivotal moment for the brand as it embraces electrification, becoming the first 4x4 in its class to leverage Stellantis' advanced STLA Medium platform. This strategic shift underscores Jeep's commitment to offering a "Freedom of Choice" in powertrains, with confirmed fully electric (EV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and e-Hybrid (mild hybrid) options alongside traditional combustion engines. Select models, particularly the all-electric variant, will also feature all-wheel drive capability, staying true to Jeep's off-road heritage while embracing a sustainable future.

Early glimpses and leaked images suggest a bold new design direction for the Compass. The upcoming model is expected to sport a more robust and upright stance, characterized by shorter overhangs and potentially drawing inspiration from the styling of the larger Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer S. The all-electric version is anticipated to feature distinct visual cues, such as a closed-off grille, setting it apart within the lineup. Inside, significant upgrades are also on the horizon, with expectations of a redesigned dashboard incorporating a modern floating infotainment screen and user-friendly physical controls. Higher-end trims may boast premium features like a double sunroof and a head-up display, elevating the overall driving experience.

The integration of the STLA Medium platform promises impressive performance and range, especially for the electric Compass. The platform boasts a "best-in-class" WLTP range of up to 700 km (approximately 435 miles) for the Performance pack, with a Standard pack offering around 500 km (310 miles). While specific power outputs for the various powertrain options are yet to be fully disclosed, the focus on electrification signals a move towards enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions. Production for the European market is set to commence in Italy in 2025, with sales following later in the year.

Looking ahead, the arrival of the new Jeep Compass is anticipated to ripple across global markets, with North America and other regions expected to follow suit in 2026. For enthusiasts in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, it will be crucial to monitor local automotive news and Jeep's official Japanese channels for specific release timelines and market-specific features. With its blend of Jeep's renowned capability, a diverse range of powertrains including a compelling EV option, and a fresh design, the reimagined Compass is poised to be a significant contender in the competitive compact SUV segment.
